Bringing Dental Imaging Access to Underserved Mountain Communities
Access to advanced dental imaging can be limited in remote and mountainous communities, where residents may need to travel considerable distances to reach larger hospitals or imaging centres.
On May 10, 2024, YOFO Medical joined an oral health outreach programme in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, bringing mobile dental imaging, oral health education and free examinations directly to local students and residents.
The initiative was organised by the Orthodontic Professional Committee of the Anhui Stomatological Association and brought together dental and orthodontic professionals from several medical institutions across the region. As a supporting organisation, YOFO Medical deployed its mobile dental CT unit to help extend diagnostic imaging access beyond conventional clinical settings.

Bringing oral health education to local students
The programme began at Huashi Township Central Primary School, where dental professionals introduced students to basic oral health, preventive care and the importance of identifying orthodontic problems at an early stage.
Through educational presentations and interactive discussions, students gained a better understanding of everyday oral health and how preventive habits can support long-term dental wellbeing.
Following the school programme, the mobile imaging unit travelled to Huashi Township Health Centre, where local residents received free dental imaging examinations and on-site consultations from participating clinicians.

Bringing imaging closer to the community
For people living in remote or mountainous areas, access to advanced dental imaging may require travelling to larger towns or specialist medical facilities.
Mobile dental imaging offers another approach: bringing diagnostic capability directly into the community.
During the Jinzhai programme, YOFO Medical’s mobile dental CT unit enabled examinations to be carried out locally, allowing clinicians to review imaging results and provide assessments during the same outreach visit.
This approach can help make dental imaging more accessible in community health programmes, rural outreach initiatives and locations where permanent advanced imaging infrastructure may not be readily available.

Designed for mobile dental careThe mobile unit used during the programme was equipped with YOFO dental imaging technology designed for efficient deployment outside traditional hospital environments.
Its seated imaging configuration and open design supported comfortable patient positioning for a wide range of participants, including children and senior residents.
The on-site digital imaging workflow also enabled clinicians to review images efficiently, supporting timely examination and consultation throughout the programme.
By integrating dental imaging equipment, workstation facilities and supporting systems into a mobile platform, advanced imaging services can be delivered wherever they are needed rather than remaining limited to fixed clinical locations. |

Extending access beyond the clinic
The Jinzhai programme reflects a broader role for mobile medical imaging: helping bridge the distance between advanced diagnostic technology and communities with limited access to specialised healthcare resources.
For YOFO Medical, innovation is not only about advancing imaging performance. It is also about exploring how technology can make high-quality diagnostic capabilities more accessible.
Through community outreach and mobile imaging initiatives, YOFO Medical will continue supporting efforts to bring dental care closer to people, particularly in communities where access remains limited.
